JENNY SWANSON AND MARK TYERMAN TOP PROGNOSTICATORS IN TURKEY TROT X AT LINCOLN PARK

(Seattle, WA) Renton’s Jenny Swanson and Seattle’s Mark Tyerman finished Club Ballard’s Turkey Trot X as the top prognosticators in today’s 6-kilometer cross country run at Seattle’s Lincoln Park.

In this unique cross country run in which the winner isn’t necessarily the first across the line, Swanson missed her predicted time of 27:00 by two seconds, while Tyerman was the top male predictor, falling short of his mark by eleven seconds.

Seattle's Pam Alegnani also missed her predicted time of 35:37 by two seconds, running 35:39.  However, Swanson won the tie-breaker, by running a faster overall time.

Kirkland’s Travis Allbaugh, and University of Washington senior Samantha Michel were the first runners to cross the finish line. Michel finished the race in 25:48.

While it did not affect the results significantly, a timing malfunction resulted in times not recorded for the first eleven finishers, an error that Club Ballard Athletics regrets, along with the delay in processing results.

CLUB BALLARD NOTES: The team announced that it will host the Seattle Open Cross Country Classic on Sunday, January 26 2003 on the same Lincoln Park course.

The Seattle Open has annually attracted many of the area’s top cross country runners, and is the last significant race before the 2003 USA National Cross Country Championships held in February in Houston, Texas.
